PodCamping Gear

I’ve been spending some time tonight trying to get things in order before I leave tomorrow morning to head to Toronto with some other London folk for PodCamp Toronto 2010. I’ve already packed my clothing etc (that was easy) but have now turned to what tech/photo related gear I want to bring.
After having done a couple of ‘camps’ before I know that carrying around a laptop, camera and other things for an entire day can suck. Now put me 2 hours from home, camping for 2 days and lets think how much that could suck. Thinking that lighter is better and having my assumptions confirmed I’ve decided to pack light.
I have decided to bring the following with me:
- Canon T1i with 50mm f1.4
- SD Cards
- Portable Hard Drive
- Notebooks and Pen
- iPod Touch
- Business Cards
- plus a book to read which isn’t shown, Growing Up Digital
I’ve decided rather than trying to create and post content all weekend I will do what I do best; socialize, start conversations, take the odd photo here and there and just enjoy the atmosphere and people. Plus, I figure that if I need a computer to upload some images or whatever else it will be pretty easy to find one at PodCamp
Far too often we can get caught up in the technology and forget about the more important reasons why we are all really coming together this weekend, to make connections, start conversations and be social, after all it is called social media.
So, what are you bringing?
